Zac has had a passion for hands-on engineering and problem solving since his childhood days of helping his Dad work on engine repair on their farm in rural Indiana.
He received his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and then embarked on a 15-year career with Rolls-Royce Aerospace that involved a series of high-profile projects across design, manufacture and test functions, including a four-year assignment in Japan as flight test engineer for the US-2 large search and rescue amphibious aircraft program.
Upon return, Zac began a series of assignments managing start-up technologies within Rolls-Royce manufacturing, working to develop and bring the technologies up to full production levels. It was during this time where Zac honed his manufacturing capability skills and gained a deep appreciation for the importance of a holistic, joined-up ‘design for manufacture’ process.
Zac has successfully co-founded two successful start-ups in the aerospace industry and is routinely recruited for key technology development programs.
Zac seeks to use data-based decision making to improve technical project performance and sustainability. His key strengths include numerical analyses/statistics, scenario modeling and Lean implementation.
